The history of World War I is well documented on a global and national level. On a local level, there are monuments and plaques which list names. This is an attempt to bring a little life to the list of names for Madison, New Jersey. Research completed by Jim Malcolm
There are web pages for:
Individual Service Records for Madison residents. Most of them are for military individuals, but there existed a large support system of Red Cross, Salvation Army, YMCA, individual Ministers from local churches, etc. who also contributed both domestically and on the front in Europe.
Individual Service Records for non-Madison residents. The Madison Eagle reported on many former residents or the children of residents. One source of names for this project was the American Legion who decorates graves of veterans buried in Madison and Florham Park graveyards. Many of these veterans moved to Madison from elsewhere.
